Sources and Editorial Notes

Updated September 24, 2026

The glossary covers nutrients and ingredients discussed in bariatric nutrition. The sources below support key corrections and general safety guidance; they do not endorse this website or its product links.

B12 form and route should be selected with your care team; methylcobalamin is not uniquely able to bypass intrinsic factor. Calcium citrate is less dependent on stomach acid than carbonate. Ferrous sulfate is a legitimate iron option; formulation and tolerability vary. Biotin supplements can interfere with laboratory tests.

We removed unsupported claims of guaranteed botanical benefits, detoxification, fat burning, and emergency-treatment substitutes. Inclusion of a botanical topic is not a recommendation to take it. No “best” botanical form or bariatric dose is recommended here.
